Paladin Golfers Shoot 303 at Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, North Carolina-- The Furman Paladin golf team shot a first round 303 at the Landfall Tradition Men's Golf Championships in Wilmington, N.C., Friday afternoon to claim ninth place.

Junior Buddy Davis led the Paladins with a three over-par 75, while three of Davis' teammates carded a first round 76.

Peter Karmis of Purdue grabbed the individual lead after the first round with a four under-par 68, but the defending national champions from Minnesota staked themselves to the team lead by firing a 283. The Golden Gophers hold a six stroke edge on second place UNC Wilmington.

Second round action begins with a shotgun start Saturday morning with the final round slated for Sunday.
