\PALADINS FINISH FIFTH AT BRADFORD CREEK

GREENVILLE, North Carolina -- Furman’s Paladin golf team fired a final round 299 on Saturday to tie for fifth with Campbell and Old Dominion at the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C., with a three-round 897 total.

Furman’s low round of the day was shot by freshman Shane Birckbichler, who carded an even par 72 at the 7,033-yard Bradford Creek Golf Course. Birckbichler ended the tournament on a strong note after shooting 79-81 on Friday, and finished 53rd in the individual standings. Furman’s top finisher at the tournament was junior Buddy Davis, who fired 73-74-75 to place 10th with a 222 total. In addition, T.J. Blandford took 25th with rounds of 76-71-78, Rob Langley finished 46th after carding 74-75-79, and Wyman Whitesides finished 46th after shooting 80-76-74.

The Paladins finished 16 strokes off UNC Wilmington’s winning score of 881.
