FURMAN GOLFERS SEVENTH AT BRADFORD CREEK

GREENVILLE, North Carolina -- Furman's Paladin golf team is in seventh place, 14 strokes off the lead, after shooting 302-296 Friday in the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C.

Buddy Davis and T.J. Blandford paced the Paladins on Friday, carding rounds of 73-74 and 76-71, respectively, to be tied for 11th, six strokes off the individual pace entering Saturday’s final round.

The Chants of Coastal Carolina hold the advantage at the top of the leaderboard with a two-round 584 tally, while UNC Wilmington is second at 588 and East Carolina and Elon are tied for third at 592. Individually, ECU’s Jonathan Hill is atop the leaderboard with a three-under 141 total, while Old Dominion’s Geoffrey Harris and CCU’s Rafael Vera are tied for second at 143.

Furman sophomore Rob Langley contributed a 74 and 75 to Friday’s Furman effort at the 7,033 -yard Bradford Creek Golf Course, while Wyman Whitesides shot 80-76, and Shane Birckbichler fired rounds of 79-81.

The third and final round of competition is slated for Saturday.
