FURMAN LINKSTERS 20TH IN FIRST TOURNAMENT OF THE SEASON

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico -- Furman's Paladin golf team finished 20th in a field of 23 at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Saturday. The Paladins fired 299-310-311 for a 920 total.

Sophomore Buddy Davis was Furman's top finisher, placing 77th with a three-round 299 total, while freshman Noble Judy placed 81st with a score of 230. Sophomores Matt Davidson and David Sligh each carded a three-round 232 to tie for 89th, while junior Vance Embry finished 110th at 240.

Buddy Davis and David Sligh had the low scores of the day for Furman. Each fired a four-over 76 in the third and final round at the University of New Mexico Championship South Course. The Paladins are in action again Sept. 25-26 at the Anchor Bank Invitational in Florence, S.C.
