FINAL DAY OF CLEVELAND COLLEGIATE WASHED OUT

FURMAN HOSTS INTERCOLLEGIATE THIS WEEKEND

AIKEN, South Carolina -- Furman's Paladin golf team finished eighth in the Cleveland Golf Collegiate with a two-round 603 total, when Tuesday's third and final round was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Paladins will host the 32nd annual Furman Intercollegiate this Friday through Sunday, March 23-25, at the Furman University Golf Course. Twenty teams will vie for the Intercollegiate title, including East Carolina, Old Dominion, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and VCU. Tee times begin on Friday at 8 a.m.

The 2000 Furman Intercollegiate team title was won by Virginia, while Maryland's Keith Unikel took individual honors. Past individual champions include Brad Faxon (Furman), Billy Andrade (Wake Forest), Curtis Strange (Wake Forest), and Matt Kuchar (Georgia Tech).
