FURMAN FINISHES SECOND AT IRONWOOD INTERCOLLEGIATE

GREENVILLE, North Carolina -- Furman's Paladin golf team fired a final round 307 to slide into a tie for second with Charleston Southern at the Ironwood Intercollegiate recording a three-day total of 900. The Ironwood was won by Georgia Southern, which carded a final-round 298 to finish at 897.

Sophomore David Sligh followed up rounds of 75 and 76 with a 74 to place 11th at 225, pacing the Paladins on the day, while Buddy Davis carded a 75 to place fifth at 223 as the team's top finisher. Kirk Satterfield and Matt Davidson carded 77 and 81, respectively, to finish in a tie for 12th at 226. Senior Brian Scurlock rounded out the Paladin players with an 86, and finished 75th with a 242 tally.

Furman's men's golf team will be in action again on Monday, March 19, at the Cleveland Golf Classic in Aiken, S.C.
