WGOG-FM 96.3 TO SERVE AS FURMAN FLAGSHIP RADIO STATION;
BROADCASTS TO ALSO BE AVAILABLE OVER YAHOO.COM

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman University director of athletics Gary Clark announced today that the school has reached an agreement with Walhalla radio station WGOG-FM 96.3 to originate Paladin football and basketball broadcasts beginning this fall.

"We're thrilled with our new partnership with WGOG-FM and believe it represents a significant improvement for our fan base in their ability to listen to our games," said Clark on Wednesday.

"96.3 WGOG is excited about our agreement with Furman University to become the flagship station for Paladin football and menšs basketball," said station manager Gary Butts. "We will be offering a broadcast that listeners across our part of the Upstate and Northeast Georgia, as well as parts of Western North Carolina, can only get by tuning in to 96.3 WGOG. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be associated with Furman University."

The new agreement spans three years. In addition, all Furman broadcasts will be available via the internet through Yahoo.com, the school's internet broadcast provider for the past five years.

Chuck Hussion, Furman's director of athletic marketing and promotions, will again serve as play-by-play announcer for Paladin football and basketball broadcasts. John Ingles will provide color commentary for football, and Gordon Higgins returns as sideline reporter. Dave Cohen and Robbie Ross will handle pregame and halftime shows, and Ron Smith returns as co-host with Higgins of the Paladin Tailgate Show.

Furman opens its 2004 season on Sept. 4 versus Presbyterian.
