PALADINS AND TERRIERS TEAM UP TO FIGHT HUNGER

GREENVILLE, S.C. On November 15th when Furman and Wofford renew their rivalry on the football field, the most important drive of the game will have already taken place.

Furman University and Wofford College have teamed up to put their rivalry toward a good cause. The annual Furman vs. Wofford football game will take place less than two weeks before Thanksgiving when food banks need assistance both monetarily and with cans and nonperishable food. Therefore, schools have teamed up with agencies in each city to offer help. Donations to Furman will go to Greenville's Loaves & Fishes. Wofford donations will go to Spartanburgıs Miracle Life Mission and The Soup Kitchen. The contest is to see which school can collect the most food and raise the most money to fight hunger.

Students at both colleges will be collecting cans and nonperishable foods on their respective campuses the week prior to the game (November 8 November 14). Donation bins will be located at designated areas and tallies will be kept each day. Alumni from both schools are encouraged to drop off food products during the week. Furman Alumni may drop off food at the Cherrydale Alumni Office. Woffordıs drop off is at the Spartanburg Area Convention & Visitors Bureau on Magnolia Street in Spartanburg. Woffordıs food drive will kick off on November 8 during the Terriers last home game of the season against East Tennessee State.

On game day, cash donations will be accepted for each school both prior to and after the game. Students from both colleges will be located on both sides of Paladin Stadium to collect money. An announcement will be made at halftime to announce which school collected the most food. On Monday, November 17, press will be notified of the winning school (the school that collected the largest combined total of food and money).

Kickoff for the Furman vs. Wofford game at Paladin Stadium is 3:35 p.m.
