FURMAN-CLEMSON FOOTBALL GAME TO BE TELEVISED LIVE
IN GREENVILLE BY COMCAST-CHARTER SPORTS SOUTHEAST

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's September 6 football game at Clemson will be televised live in the Greeenville market over Comcast-Charter Sports Southeast (CSS), Furman athletics director Gary Clark announced today.

The game will be carried over Charter's Greenville system channel 58. Kickoff for the 54th meeting between the Paladins and Tigers, who first met on the gridiron in 1896, will remain 5:00 p.m.

"We appreciate Clemson and the ACC working with us to make this broadcast possible," said Clark in making the announcement.

With today's announcement, Furman now has six confirmed live television appearances scheduled for the 2003 season.

The Paladins' Aug. 30 home season opener versus Elon (7:00 p.m.) and Nov. 23 regular season finale at Chattanooga (3:30 p.m.) will be televised by The Football Network (TFN).

Furman's Oct. 18 game at the Citadel (3:30 p.m.) will be televised by CSS, and the Paladins' Nov. 8 clash versus Georgia Southern (1:00 p.m.) in Statesboro will be broadcast by College Sports Television (CSTV).

Fox Sports South Network (FSN) has announced plans to televise Furman's Oct. 11 home game against Appalachian State (3:30) and an option to broadcast the Paladins' Nov. 15 home contest against Wofford if the game carries Southern Conference championship and/or playoff implications.

Furman posted an 8-4 record and No. 9 final national ranking in 2002 under first-year head coach Bobby Lamb. The Paladins report for preseason camp on August 7 and begin practice on August 8 with a 5:30 p.m. session in shorts and helmets.
