FURMAN SETS FOOTBALL FAN DAY FOR AUGUST 16

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman will hold its annual "Pump Up The Purple" Fan Day Saturday, August 16, prior to the Paladins' scrimmage in Paladin Stadium, it was announced today.

An autograph/photo session featuring players and coaches will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Timmons Arena, where fans can also secure Furman "The Defense Never Rests" posters. A limited number of media guides will also be available for $12 each.

Later in Paladin Stadium fans will be treated to several giveaways, including footballs and game jerseys.

The team scrimmage will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Coming off an 8-4 season and fourth straight NCAA I-AA playoff appearance, Furman kicks off the 2003 campaign on Aug. 30 when it hosts Elon at Paladin Stadium in a 7:00 p.m. game.
