FURMAN FOOTBALL TO MAKE
THREE TV APPEARANCES IN 2001
GREENVILLE -- The Furman Paladins football team will make three appearances on live television during the 2001 football season, the Southerrn Conference announced today.
Furman's Oct. 6 game against Appalachian State and Nov. 10 contest versus Wofford � both home games for the Paladins � will be televised live over Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Paladins' Nov. 3 clash against defending national champion Georgia Southern in Statesboro, meanwhile, will be televised live on Fox Sports Net South beginning at 3:30 p.m. Furman defeated Georgia Southern 45-10 last year in Greenville.
Furman returns 19 starters off last year's 9-3 NCAA I-AA playoff team, including All-America and Walter Payton Award winning senior tailback Louis Ivory, who rushed for a Southern Conference record 2,079 yards and 16 touchdowns a year ago.
