FURMAN FOOTBALL LOSES PAIR TO INJURY

GREENVILLE -- Furman head football coach Bobby Johnson announced today that flanker Adam Ditto and fullback Al Means have been sidelined with injuries sustained in Saturday's 46-7 win over Elon.

Ditto, a senior from Kennesaw, Ga., suffered a fractured fibula in his right leg and will be out for at least 8-10 weeks after undergoing successful surgery on Monday, according to Furman head athletic trainer Brian Reese. A backup at the flanker position, Ditto had one reception for 14 yards in the Paladins' first two games.

Means, a redshirt freshman backup from Charlotte, N.C., will miss 2-3 weeks after spraining the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. He has three rushes for 24 yards through two games.

In announcing the injuries on Ditto and Means, Johnson also said that reserve freshman fullback David Latimer and reserve cornerback T.J. Wilson had been cleared to return to the practice field after being sidelined with knee injuries in the preseason.

Furman, ranked fourth in the latest Sports Network NCAA I-AA Poll, returns to action on Saturday against Liberty in Lynchburg, Va. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
