FURMAN FAN DAY SCHEDULED
FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 18

GREENVILLE -- Furman Football Fan Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 18, in conjunction with the Paladins' scrimmage in Paladin Stadium, it was announced today.

Head coach Bobby Johnson and all players, including All-America and Walter Payton Award winning tailback Louis Ivory, will be available for pictures and autographs in Timmons Arena beginning at 1:00 p.m. In addition, Furman's mascot, Sir Paladin, and his mount, Sterling, will be on hand for photographs outside the arena.

Three hundred youth-size Furman tee shirts will be given away, along with posters, hand fans, and pocket schedules. Adult-size tee shirts and media guides will be on sale in the arena. Among a number of prizes to be given away are a pair of season tickets to Furman's five home games.

The autograph session will end at 1:45 p.m. prior to the scrimmage, which gets underway at approximately 2:30 p.m. in Paladin Stadium.

Furman, which opens the 2001 season at Wyoming on Sept. 1, returns 19 starters off a 2000 squad that posted a 9-3 record and ranked No. 10 in the Sports Network final poll.
