FURMAN'S IVORY, MOORE NAMED TO
WALTER CAMP I-AA ALL-AMERICA TEAM

GREENVILLE -- Furman University tailback Louis Ivory and offensive tackle Josh Moore have been named to the Walter Camp NCAA I-AA All-America football team, it was announced today.

The selection of Ivory and Moore to the Walter Camp squad makes the duo consensus All-Americans, as the two were earlier named to American Football Coaches Association, Sports Network, and Associated Press All-America teams.

"Louis and Josh were obviously major factors in our successful 2000 season, and they are deserving of the recognition they've received over the last couple of months," said Furman head coach Bobby Johnson on Wednesday.

Ivory, a product of Fort Valley, Ga., and recipient of the Walter Payton Award as the top offensive player in NCAA I-AA football this past season, rushed for a Southern Conference and state record 2,079 yards and 16 touchdowns in 11 regular season games in leading Furman to a 9-3 record and No. 4 final national regular season ranking. His season featured five 200-yard performances, including a Southern Conference single game record 301-yard, three-touchdown outing in a 45-10 win over top-ranked and defending national champion Georgia Southern. Tabbed league offensive player-of-the-year in voting by head coaches and media, Ivory was recently named South Carolina Player-of-the-Year by the Greenville Touchdown Club.

Moore, a Cross Hill, S.C., native and Southern Conference Jacobs Blocking Award recipient, helped key a talented offensive line that cleared the way for Ivory and a Paladin ground attack that averaged a school record 307.5 rushing yards per game. He recently participated in the Rotary Gridiron All-Star Classic in Orlando, Fla.

Ivory and Moore were joined on the Walter Camp All-America team by Appalachian State defensive back Corey Hall and Georgia Southern running back Adrian Peterson.
