Furman, ranked fourth in the latest Sports Network NCAA I-AA poll and sporting an 8-2 overall record and 5-2 Southern Conference mark, is considered a strong contender to earn a bid to this year's NCAA I-AA playoffs. Furman hosts league rival Chattanooga Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Paladin Stadium and needs a win over the Mocs to secure a home first round playoff game.

An invitation to this year's playoffs would be the second straight postseason bid for the Paladins and 10th overall for Furman since the Southern Conference was reclassified to I-AA in 1982. Last year the Paladins dropped a first round game to 1998 national champion Massachusetts 30-23 in overtime.
