FURMAN'S O'DANIEL TO MISS 2-4 WEEKS
WITH TORN KNEE CARTILAGE

GREENVILLE -- Furman backup defensive tackle Clay O'Daniel underwent surgery Tuesday morning to repair torn knee cartilage and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks of action, according to head athletic trainer Brian Reese.

O'Daniel, a junior from Alpharetta, Ga., sustained the knee injury while making a sack in the Paladins' 33-7 win over The Citadel on Saturday. He has 12 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, and two sacks in Furman's seven games this year.

Now 6-1 overall and 3-1 in Southern Conference play, Furman is ranked seventh in the latest Sports Network NCAA I-AA poll and returns to action this Saturday against East Tennessee State in Johnson City. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
