45-10 WIN OVER GEORGIA SOUTHERN LIFTS FURMAN
TO FIFTH IN LATEST SPORTS NETWORK NCAA I-AA POLL

GREENVILLE -- The Furman Paladins, fresh from a 45-10 whipping of previously top-ranked Georgia Southern on Saturday, are ranked fifth in the latest Sports Network NCAA I-AA poll, which was released today.

Furman, at No. 5, is the highest ranked Southern Conference team in the poll. Georgia Southern is No. 6 and Appalachian State No. 14.

Furman, now 7-2 on the 2000 season and 4-2 in Southern Conference play, returns to action this Saturday when it takes on Wofford in Spartanburg. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m., and the contest will be televised by Comast/Charter Sports Southeast.
