FURMAN'S MOORE SIGNS FREE AGENT
CONTRACT WITH PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

GREENVILLE -- Furman football All-America offensive tackle Josh Moore has signed a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, the club announced today.

Moore, a 6-foot-5, 318-pound product of Cross Hill, S.C., twice earned All-Southern Conference honors during his career and was selected as the league's Jacobs Blocking Award recipient this past year after helping Furman to a 9-3 record, NCAA I-AA playoff appearance, and No. 10 final national ranking. In addition he was named first team All-America by the Sports Network, Walter Camp Foundation, and Football Gazette.

"We're very happy that Josh has an opportunity to play in the NFL," said Paladins head coach Bobby Johnson. "He played a big part in our success the last couple of years, and now his hard work has afforded the chance to play professionally."

A three-year starter, Moore registered action in 42 games and totaled 30 starts and 24 winning performances in his Furman career.

In signing Moore, Philadelphia now counts two former Paladins on its active roster, including tight end Luther Broughton, a 1997 Furman graduate and four-year NFL veteran. In addition to Moore and Broughton, Furman boasts three other graduates on NFL rosters, including linebacker Orlando Ruff '99 (San Diego Chargers), safety John Keith '00 (San Francisco 49ers), and Desmond Kitchings '00 (New York Jets).
