FURMAN ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH BOBBY LAMB SUSTAINS
FRACTURED CERVICAL VERTEBRAE IN CAR ACCIDENT WEDNESDAY

GREENVILLE -- Furman University assistant football coach Bobby Lamb remains hospitalized after sustaining a fractured cervical vertebrae in an automobile accident on his way home from work Wednesday evening.

According to Furman head athletic trainer Brian Reese, Lamb did not lose consciousness at any point following the accident and has full neuromuscular activity in his extremities. As of Thursday afternoon it was believed Lamb could be released from Greenville Memorial Hospital as early as Friday morning, depending on the outcome of diagnostic tests scheduled for Thursday.

"We are very concerned with coach Lamb's condition and the thoughts and prayers of our coaching staff, players, and entire Furman community are with Bobby, his wife Allyson, and two children Taylor and Sallie," said Paladin head coach Bobby Johnson Thursday morning.

Lamb, a Commerce, Ga., native and 1986 Furman graduate currently in his 14th year as a member of the Paladin coaching staff, serves as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.
