FURMAN'S HILL HAS STRAINED ROTATOR CUFF,
QUESTIONABLE FOR EAST TENNESSEE STATE GAME

GREENVILLE -- Furman senior quarterback Justin Hill has a strained rotator cuff in his right shoulder and is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against East Tennessee State, Furman head athletic trainer Brian Reese said Monday.

Hill, who exited Saturday's game against The Citadel after taking a big hit on the Paladins' first offensive series, did not participate in Monday's practice after undergoing a CT scan earlier in the day. Results of the test proved negative.

"Justin's pretty sore and his range of motion is limited, although it's better today than yesterday," said Reese Monday afternoon.

If Hill is unable to play against East Tennessee State, sophomore Billy Napier will make his first collegiate start. Napier completed 11-of-16 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in relief of Hill in the Paladins' 33-7 win over The Citadel on Saturday.

Now 6-1 overall and 3-1 in Southern Conference play, Furman is ranked seventh in the latest Sports Network NCAA I-AA poll.
