FURMAN PLACES EIGHT ON COACHES
ALL-SOUTHERN CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

GREENVILLE -- The 1999 Southern Conference champion Furman Paladins have placed eight players on the league's coaches all-conference first team, it was announced today.

Furman, which posted a 9-3 record this year, including a 28-3 win over North Carolina, placed six members on the offensive first team. Two Paladins earned first team honors on defense.

Furman players selected to the first team offense include senior guard Ben Hall (Royston, Ga.), junior tackle Josh Moore (Cross Hill, S.C), sophomore tight end Trent Sansbury (Lilburn, Ga.), senior wide receiver Des Kitchings (Wagener, S.C.), and sophomore tailback Louis Ivory (Fort Valley, Ga.). Kitchings was also the head coaches' choice as the league's top return specialist. On defense, senior free safety John Keith (Newnan, Ga.) and sophomore linebacker Will Bouton (Greenville, S.C.) garnered first team accolades.

Junior quarterback Justin Hill (Greer, S.C.) and senior strong safety Walter Booth (Gainesville, Fla.) were second team All-Southern Conference honorees.
