Furman's Roberson Named Southern Conference Freshman-of-the-Week

GREENVILLE -- Furman University freshman cornerback Daniel Roberson today was named Southern Conference Freshman-of-the-Week for his performance in Furmanıs 34-24 win over Samford on Saturday.

Roberson, making only his second career start, totaled three tackles and a pair of interceptions, including one he returned 40 yards for what proved to be the game winning touchdown. Robersonıs second interception included a nine yard return and helped set up the Paladinsı final score of the game.

Roberson is the second consecutive Paladin to capture the league honor. Last week true freshman fullback Louis Ivory reaped league freshman-of-the-week accolades after rushing for 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 27-19 win over South Carolina State.
