FURMAN BASKETBALL TO OPEN HOME, CONFERENCE SEASON

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furmanıs Lady Paladin basketball team will kick-off the 1998-99 slate of home and conference basketball games on Tuesday, December 1, with a 7 p.m. matchup against College of Charleston in Timmons Arena.

The Lady Paladins are 4-4 all-time against the Cougars after earning a 90-72 victory on February 16, 1994 - the last time these two teams met.

Furman enters the game with an 0-4 record, while Charleston brings a 2-3 record to town, but the Lady Paladins claim a 7-1 record in Timmons Arena.

Furman is currently led by junior Jackie Smith, who is averaging 21.3 points per game, and senior Heidi White, who enters Tuesdayıs game with a 26-game double-digit scoring streak on the line.
