SMITH RANKED 13TH IN NCAA SCORING
GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furman junior guard/forward Jackie Smith is currently ranked 13th in NCAA Division I with a 21.7 points per game average.
Smith, the reigning Southern Conference Player of the Year, leads the conference in scoring, rebounding, and offensive rebounds and in the last two weeks has improved from 38th to 13th in the national rankings for points per game. Smith has scored in double figures 12 times this season, has topped the 20-point mark six times, and has twice topped the 30-point mark.
The current NCAA scoring leader is Jackie Stiles of Southwest Missouri, who is averaging 27.0 points per game.
