FURMAN AND CLEMSON GO HEAD TO HEAD WEDNESDAY AT TIMMONS

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Furman's Lady Paladin basketball team, 1-2 on the year, will host the Clemson Lady Tigers, 4-1 overall, Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Timmons Arena.

Clemson is coming off a 65-46 win over in-state rival South Carolina, while Furman is searching for answers after losing on Sunday to Coastal Carolina, a team it had beaten 12 consecutive times. The Lady Tigers are led by senior guard Amirah Leonard, who is averaging 12.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game and Erin Batth, who is leading the team with an 8.4 rebounds per game average. Furman is being paced by senior Jackie Smith, who is averaging 15.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, and Torrie Scott, who is averaging 11.3 points and 3.9 assists per game.

Clemson holds a 12-0 series lead against Furman, but two games, including a 78-77 decision in 1993, were decided by 10 points or less.

Tickets to Wednesday night's game are $5 for lower tier seating and $3 for the upper level.
