FURMAN SINKS WOFFORD WITH 37-POINT VICTORY IN GREENVILLE

GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- It all came together for the Lady Paladin basketball team Monday night, as Furman defeated Wofford 79-42 in Southern Conference action at Timmons Arena.

The 37-point victory was the largest conference win for the Lady Paladins since Feb. 14, 1994, when Furman downed Western Carolina by 44 -points, 97-53. Against the Terriers, Furman shot 46.9% from the field, 33.3% from three-point range, and 73.9% from the free throw line. In addition, Jackie Smith, Tara Charles and Torrie Scott each scored 15 points, while Kena Hodges added 12. Smith also totaled 11 rebounds as she claimed her 38th career double-double and helped Furman outrebound the Terriers 45-36.

Few things went right for Wofford Monday night, as they struggled without the offensive punch of Jenny Nett and Stacy Parris, both of whom are out indefinitely with health problems. Nancy Dubuisson was Wofford's lone bright spot, scoring 15 points with 11 rebounds and four steals on the night. The Terriers shot 26% from the field, 10% from three-point range, and 62.5% from the free throw line.
