FOUR LADY PALADIN BASKETBALL GAMES SET FOR BROADCAST


GREENVILLE, South Carolina -- Four upcoming Furman womenıs basketball games will be broadcast on WCSZ-1070 AM, it was announced on Thursday.

This Saturdayıs 4 p.m. contest with Georgia Southern will be the first of the season to go out on radio. Other games slated for broadcast are the January 18 game versus Wofford (4 p.m.), the February 15 matchup with Chattanooga (4 p.m.) and the February 26 contest with the College of Charleston (7 p.m.). Chuck Hussion, the voice of Furmanıs football and menıs basketball teams, will provide play by play on Saturday, while Sonya Beeler-Wilhoite adds color commentary.

³I think it is tremendous that we are going to have an opportunity for our team to get exposure over the airwaves,² said coach Sam Dixon. ³Hopefully with the effort and enthusiasm they have displayed this year it will give people a chance to hear about them and maybe want to take the time to come out and watch them. I think it is a tremendous boost to our program to be able to be heard throughout Greenville and much of the Upstate.²

The Lady Paladin basketball team is currently 7-5 overall with a 3-0 mark in the Southern Conference. Furman is riding a five-game win streak, dating back to December 16, into Saturdayıs game with the Eagles (9-3, 3-0).
