WOMENıS BASKETBALL COACHES NAME LAWRENCE TO PRESEASON TEAM
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The Southern Conference womenıs basketball coaches have
selected their preseason all-league team.
Chattanoogaıs Damita Bullock was selected as the preseason Player of the Year.
A senior from Harrisburg, PA, Bullock earned back to back Player of the Year
honors in 2000 and 2001, one of only two players to do so in SoCon womenıs basketball
history. Western Carolinaıs Laura Echols was second in the voting after leading
the league with an 18.0 scoring average last season.
Chattanooga and UNC Greensboro both placed two players on the team. UTCıs Jennifer
Wilson joined Bullock while UNCGıs Samika Fostger and Brianne Dodgen were also
selected. College of Charleston, Davidson, Furman, Georgia Southern and Wofford
each had one player named to the preseason squad.
