WOMEN¹S BASKETBALL COACHES NAME LAWRENCE TO PRESEASON TEAM

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The Southern Conference women¹s basketball coaches have selected their preseason all-league team.

Chattanooga¹s Damita Bullock was selected as the preseason Player of the Year. A senior from Harrisburg, PA, Bullock earned back to back Player of the Year honors in 2000 and 2001, one of only two players to do so in SoCon women¹s basketball history. Western Carolina¹s Laura Echols was second in the voting after leading the league with an 18.0 scoring average last season.

Chattanooga and UNC Greensboro both placed two players on the team. UTC¹s Jennifer Wilson joined Bullock while UNCG¹s Samika Fostger and Brianne Dodgen were also selected. College of Charleston, Davidson, Furman, Georgia Southern and Wofford each had one player named to the preseason squad.
