FURMAN TOPS DAVIDSON 81-53 IN SOCON ACTION

DAVIDSON, North Carolina -- Furman's Lady Paladin basketball team improved to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in the Southern Conference Wednesday night, with an 81-53 victory over the Wildcats of Davidson.

The Lady Paladins jumped out to an early lead, and took a 44-25 advantage into the halftime locker room. Furman shot 47.7% from the field for the game and was 15-of-18 (.833) from the line. In addition, the Lady Paladins outrebounded Davidson 39-29.

Furman was led offensively by freshman Kim Lawrence and senior Torrie Scott, who each accounted for 16 points, and senior Kena Hodges who totaled 12. Leitra Young led Furman's rebounding effort with six, while Hodges and Scott each tallied five.

The Wildcats were paced by Jessica Heath's 14-point performance and Ashley Hallsted's five rebounds.

Furman will host the Terriers of Wofford on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m.
