FURMAN BASKETBALL TO OPEN
PRESEASON PRACTICE SATURDAY

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman Paladins men's basketball team tips off preseason practice Saturday with a pair of workouts at Timmons Arena.

Practices are scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. according to head coach Larry Davis, who is entering his seventh year at the helm.

Furman returns two starters and six lettermen off last year's team that finished third in the Southern Conference South Division with a 14-17 overall record and 8-8 league mark. The two returning regulars include senior center Marijan Pojatina and senior forward Maleye Ndoye. The Paladins also welcome back experienced junior forward Nick Sanders and sophomore guard Tony Carter. The roster includes five true freshmen, including guard Eric Webb and forwards Gerad Punch, Quan Prowell, Julius van De Laar, and Moussa Diagne.

Furman opens its season on Nov. 22 against James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va.
