FURMAN’S DIAGNE TO PLAY WEDNESDAY VERSUS OHIO STATE

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- Furman Paladins men’s basketball coach Larry Davis announced today that freshman forward Moussa Diagne (pronounced “Jine”) will make his season debut Wednesday night in the Paladins’ game against Ohio State.

Diagne, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound product of Thies, Senegal, was originally considered a redshirt candidate for the 2003-04 season but has demonstrated in practice an ability to contribute this season, according to Davis.

“We are pleased with Moussa’s progress in the classroom and on the court and believe he is now in a position to help our basketball team,” said Davis Tuesday afternoon. “He will add another dimension to our front court and give us needed depth.”

Furman currently stands 4-3 on the season and has won two straight, including a 60-56 decision over UNC Asheville on Sunday.
