TIPOFF FOR JAN. 12 FURMAN-DAVIDSON BASKETBALL GAME
MOVED TO ACCOMMODATE TELEVISION

GREENVILLE -- Tipoff for the Furman's men's basketball game with Davidson, scheduled for Jan. 12, 2002, in Greenville, has been moved to 1:00 p.m. to accommodate Fox Sports South Television, it was announced today.

Furman is scheduled to make three live television appearances during the upcoming season, including the championship game of the Poinsettia Classic (Nov. 29), Davidson (Jan. 12), and College of Charleston (Jan. 14). Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) will televise the Poinsettia Classic championship game and the Paladins' contest against College of Charleston, and Fox Sports South will broadcast the Furman-Davidson game.

CSS will televise the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the Southern Conference Tournament, scheduled for Mar. 1-2, 2002, in North Charleston, S.C.. The conference tournament championship game on Mar. 3 will be broadcast live by ESPN.

Furman opens its season on Nov. 16 against Georgia in Athens.
