NO FURMAN RADIO BROADCAST AVAILABLE FOR MONDAY
NIGHT'S FURMAN-COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON GAME

GREENVILLE -- While Monday night's Furman-College of Charleston men's basketball game will be played in Charleston as scheduled, there will no Furman radio broadcast of the event due to heavy snow in the southern region of South Carolina's Upstate early Monday afternoon.

Play-by-play announcer Chuck Hussion and color commentator John Ingles departed Greenville at 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon but found I-385 hazardous and basically impassable south of Fountain Inn. Snowfall of at least six inches in Laurens County and similar weather further south into Newberry County eliminated any chance of Furman's broadcast team making the game in time for the broadcast.

While there will be no originating Furman broadcast, Monday's game will be carried in Greenville by College of Charleston affiliate WHYZ-AM (1070) beginning at 7:00 p.m. Fans can also access the game broadcast through College of Charleston's web site at: www.cougars.cofc.edu.

"We sincerely regret that we will be unable to bring the broadcast of tonight's game to our fans, but we could not ask anything more of our radio personnel. The roads were simply too treacherous and travel unwise according to our sources," said Furman vice president for intercollegiate athletics Dr. John Block, who is in Charleston with the team.
