AS A FRESHMAN (1998-99): Saw action in all 28 games working as the primary backup to point guard Marcus Dilligard...averaged 17.4 minutes and 3.1 points/game...connected on 38.7% of his 3-point attempts (12x31) and shot a solid 70.5% from the free throw line (31x44)...converted a season high 8x13 free throws on the way to a season high 11 points in an 88-85 win over Charleston Southern in Greenville...registered 10 points and knocked down a pair of big 3-pointers in a 58-55 win over East Tennessee State in Johnson City...garnered a season high five assists against Northwestern (62-55 loss)...tallied six points with a pair of 3-pointers in a 92-70 win over Greensboro...garnered a season high four steals against William & Mary (79-67 win) in Williamsburg...finished tied for fourth on the squad in steals with 22.
HIGH SCHOOL: 1998 graduate of Wallace-Rose Hill High School...basketball coach was Steve Robinson...was the starting point guard on Wallace-Rose Hill's 31-0 state AA championship team...scored seven points and had 10 assists in Wallace-Rose Hill's 72-56 win over North Stanly in the state championship game...averaged 10.5 points and 8.5 assists per game and earned All-East Central Conference, all east regional tournament, and all-state honors as a senior...began his prep career at Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, N.C., where he was a starter in each of his first three seasons of play...twice earned All-Mideastern Conference honors after helping Southern Wayne to three straight league championships and a cumulative 60-20 record...attended Oak Hill (Va.) Academy at the start of his senior season but soon returned to North Carolina and enrolled at Wallace-Rose Hill.
