Furman's Gaither To Transfer

GREENVILLE -- Furman University head basketball coach Larry Davis announced today that guard Que Gaither has decided to transfer at the end of the academic year.

Gaither, a product of Goose Creek, S.C., and two-year letterman, averaged 2.2 ppg and 1.3 rpg in 12 games this past year but missed 17 contests due to injury. As a freshman a year ago, he started in 18 games and averaged 4.4 ppg and 3.1 rpg.

"Que Gaither is an outstanding person and I am in support of his decision to leave because he is making it for the right reasons," said Davis in making the announcement. "My staff and I and the team wish nothing but the best for him for the rest of his career."

Gaither's destination is uncertain at the moment, but Davis indicated that he was considering several schools in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
