FURMAN'S PATRICK GRIFFIN NAMED
SOUTHERN CONFERENCE PITCHER-OF-THE-WEEK

GREENVILLE --- Furman sophomore Patrick Griffin has been named Southern Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week for his work in a pair of Paladin victories recently.

Griffin, a 6-1, 195-pound sophomore lefthander from Carmel, Ind., started the season 2-0 for the Paladins with a 0.00 earned run average. He tossed seven innings of one-hit ball in a 1-0 win over High Point in his first outing of the season and followed that with four and one-third innings of scoreless work in an 8-6 victory over Niagara last Sunday.

A 14-1 winner of North Carolina State on Tuesday, Furman is off to a 6-1 start. The Paladins entertain Ohio in a three-game series this weekend beginning with single game on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
