Appears to have earned the reputation of ³ace² of Furman¹s pitching staff following a strong finish to the 2000 season...success is attributed to his control and ability to change speeds effectively...should combine with returning veterans Toby David, Tom Mastny, and Rusty Putnam to give Furman a quality starting rotation this spring. 2000 -- Put together a solid sophomore campaign that included a 7-7 record, plus as outstanding run in Southern Conference Tournament play where, in 16 innings of work, he went 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA, yielding only nine hits while striking out 18...was named to the all-tournament team...tournament performance helped Furman finish as runner-up...struck out a career high 12 batters and gave up only one run and five hits over seven innings in a 3-2 win over East Tennessee State in a first round game...came back three days later to spark a dominating 11-1 rout of defending tournament champion Citadel with a complete game four-hitter...other wins came over Eastern Kentucky (6-5), Davidson (3-1), Western Carolina (13-9), Wofford (7-1), and Georgia Southern (5-3)...paced Furman¹s pitching staff in wins (7), starts (18), and innings pitched (97.1)...18 starts is a new school season record. 1999 -- Posted a 2-6 record in 11 starts...also made nine relief appearances...struck out 59 in 65.2 innings of work...surrendered only three hits in six innings in leading Furman to a 5-2 win over VMI...picked up his second win after going six innings in a 6-4 decision over Wofford.
