GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman baseball coach Ron Smith today announced the hiring of Jeff Young to the Paladin baseball staff.

Young replaces Greg McVey, who accepted a head coaching position at Kentucky Wesleyan College in August. Young¹s primary responsibility will be working with infielders while also assisting as hitting coach. Prior to coming to Furman, Young served on the staffs at Emory, Kentucky and, most recently, Presbyterian.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Young played baseball and hockey at Kent State before transferring to Morehead State, where he graduated with a degree in English in 1992.
