FURMAN BASEBALL FALLS 4-1 TO BELMONT
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Belmontıs Jason Anderegg pitched a complete game Saturday
afternoon at Paladin Stadium to lead the Bruins to a 4-1 win over Furman Baseball
(13-20-1). Anderegg struck out four and gave up only one earned run on the day.
Belmont (19-19) took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Charlie
Cordin reached on a walk and later scored on a fielderıs choice. The Bruins
increased their lead to 3-0 in the sixth inning as runners scored on a ground
out and a sacrifice fly. Belmont posted thier final run in the eighth inning
when Josh Brummettıs solo homer gave them a 4-0 advantage.
The Paladins attempted a comeback in the top of the ninth but only managed
one run as James Bright reached on a single and later scored on Chris Valdesı
double.
Furmanıs Corey Etheridge (3-5) suffered the loss, while Bruin Jason Anderegg (5-4) earned the win. Furman returns to action on Monday afternoon travelling to High Point for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
