FURMAN BASEBALL FALLS TO HIGH POINT

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- High Pointıs Buddy Webb went three-for-four with a double against Paladin pitching to lead the Panthers to a 11-3 victory over Furman Baseball (22-27-1).

High Point (19-32-1) took an early two-un lead as John Cavanaugh reached on a single and scored on a Buck Hamerick double. Webbıs RBI single scored Hamrick. The Panthers posted five additional runs on only two hits in the second taking a 7-0 lead.

Furman responded in the bottom of the inning scoring two runs on Tommy Johnıs two-run homer.

High Point increased its lead to 9-2 in the top of the fourth when Webb reached on a double and later scored on a Kemp Smith homer. The Panthers final two runs came on a walk and a fielderıs choice in the ninth for a 11-3 final.

Furmanıs Alex Vogel (1-2) suffered the loss, while Panther David White (4-4) earned the win.

Furman Baseball travels to East Tennessee State this weekend for the final Southern Conference series of the season. The first game will be played Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Howard Johnson Field.
