FURMAN SHUTS OUT
HIGH POINT 6-0
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Jordan Rileyıs pinch-hit three-run double in the seventh
inning broke open a tight game and lifted Furman (2-1) to a 6-0 win over the
visiting High Point (1-2) Sunday afternoon.
Rileyıs bases cleaning double came off Panther Chas Welch with one out and
staked the Paladins to a 4-0 lead. Furman added two unearned runs in the eighth
to complete the scoring.
Paladin pitchers Rusty Putnam (1-0) , Tom Mastny, and Rob Purvis combined
for Furmanıs second shutout in three games, scattering seven High Point hits.
The Paladins returns to action on Tuesday when they host UNC Charlotte in a 3:00 p.m. game.
