Furman Downs Georgia State 10-4

Atlanta, GA -- Four Georgia State errors led to a nine run sixth inning for the Paladins as they defeated the Panthers for the second time this season, 10-4.

The Panthers carried a 3-0 lead into the top of the sixth with senior Steven Kidd on the mound having allowed just two hits to that point. Furman sent 14 batters to the plate and recorded seven hits, however the Panther gloves are what allowed the runs to score. On three separate occasions State had opportunities to turn a double play and were unable to record even one out.

Kidd (3-1) took the loss, but did not allow any earned runs in his 5.1 innings of work. In fact, the Panthers only allowed one earned run in the entire game. Georgia State finished with six errors on the night.

Mic Knox finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored for Georgia State.

Brian Corcoran earned the victory for the Paladins.
