FURMAN BASEBALL LOSES
6-4 TO DAVIDSON
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Davidsonıs Jack Prucellıs grand slam led the Wildcats
to a 6-4 win over Furman (4-10, 0-1 SoCon) Saturday afternoon at Furman Studium.
Prucellıs second inning grand slam off Furman starter Rusty Putnam (2-3) gave
Davidson (10-6, 6-1 SoCon) an early 4-0 lead. Furman sliced the Wildcatsı lead
to 4-3 with single runs in the second, fourth, and sixth off Davidson starting
pitcher Ryan Stroker (3-1), but the Wildcats answered with back-to-back RBI
singles by Tim Frend and Stewart Sloan in the seventh to take a 6-3 lead.
Stroker, who surrendered a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh before
leaving the game, gave up nine hits and three walks while striking out three.
Mark Wells pitched three innings of no-hit ball to earn his his second save
of the season.
The Paladins will close the conference series with Davidson Sunday in a noon doubleheader at Furman Baesball Stadium.
