002.122 O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you and how I preferred you to (all) creatures.
002.123 And guard (yourselves) against a day when no soul will in aught avail another, nor will compensation be accepted from it, nor will intercession be of use to it; nor will they be helped.
002.124 And (remember) when his Lord tried Abraham with (His) commands, and he fulfilled them, He said: Lo! I have appointed thee a leader for mankind. (Abraham) said: And of my offspring (will there be leaders) ? He said: My covenant includeth not wrong-doers.
002.125 And when We made the House (at Makka) a resort for mankind and sanctuary, (saying): Take as your place of worship the place where Abraham stood (to pray). And We imposed a duty upon Abraham and Ishmael, (saying): Purify My house for those who go around and those who meditate therein and those who bow down and prostrate themselves (in worship).
002.126 And when Abraham prayed: My Lord! Make this a region of security and bestow upon its people fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day, He answered: As for him who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of Fire - a hapless journey's end!
002.127 And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House, (Abraham prayed): Our Lord! Accept from us (this duty). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower.
002.128 Our Lord! And make us submissive unto Thee and of our seed a nation submissive unto Thee, and show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Relenting, the Merciful.
002.129 Our Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among them who shall recite unto them Thy revelations, and shall instruct them in the Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, Wise.
002.130 And who forsaketh the religion of Abraham save him who befooleth himself ? Verily We chose him in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he is among the righteous.
002.131 When his Lord said unto him: Surrender! he said: I have surrendered to the Lord of the Worlds.
002.132 The same did Abraham enjoin upon his sons, and also Jacob, (saying): O my sons! Lo! Allah hath chosen for you the (true) religion; therefore die not save as men who have surrendered (unto Him).
002.133 Or were ye present when death came to Jacob, when he said unto his sons: What will ye worship after me ? They said: We shall worship thy God, the God of thy fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac, One God, and unto Him we have surrendered.
002.134 Those are a people who have passed away. Theirs is that which they earned, and yours is that which ye earn. And ye will not be asked of what they used to do.
002.135 And they say: Be Jews or Christians, then ye will be rightly guided. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Nay, but (we follow) the religion of Abraham, the upright, and he was not of the idolaters.
002.136 Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.
002.137 And if they believe in the like of that which ye believe, then are they rightly guided. But if they turn away, then are they in schism, and Allah will suffice thee (for defence) against them. He is the Hearer, the Knower.
002.138 (We take our) colour from Allah, and who is better than Allah at colouring. We are His worshippers.
002.139 Say (unto the People of the Scripture): Dispute ye with us concerning Allah when He is our Lord and your Lord ? Ours are our works and yours your works. We look to Him alone.
002.140 Or say ye that Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes were Jews or Christians ? Say: Do ye know best, or doth Allah ? And who is more unjust than he who hideth a testimony which he hath received from Allah ? Allah is not unaware of what ye do.
002.141 Those are a people who have passed away; theirs is that which they earned and yours that which ye earn. And ye will not be asked of what they used to do.

003.064 Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him).
003.065 O People of the Scripture! Why will ye argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed till after him ? Have ye then no sense ?
003.066 Lo! ye are those who argue about that whereof ye have some knowledge: Why then argue ye concerning that whereof ye have no knowledge ? Allah knoweth. Ye know not.
003.067 Abraham was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian; but he was an upright man who had surrendered (to Allah), and he was not of the idolaters.
003.068 Lo! those of mankind who have the best claim to Abraham are those who followed him, and this Prophet and those who believe (with him); and Allah is the Protecting Guardian of the believers.
003.069 A party of the People of the Scripture long to make you go astray; and they make none to go astray except themselves, but they perceive not.
003.070 O People of the Scripture! Why disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah, when ye (yourselves) bear witness (to their truth) ?
003.071 O People of the Scripture! Why confound ye truth with falsehood and knowingly conceal the truth ?

021.051 And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him,
021.052 When he said unto his father and his folk: What are these images unto which ye pay devotion ?
021.053 They said: We found our fathers worshippers of them.
021.054 He said: Verily ye and your fathers were in plain error.
021.055 They said: Bringest thou unto us the truth, or art thou some jester ?
021.056 He said: Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them; and I am of those who testify unto that.
021.057 And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs.
021.058 Then he reduced them to fragments, all save the chief of them, that haply they might have recourse to it.
021.059 They said: Who hath done this to our gods ? Surely it must be some evil-doer.
021.060 They said: We heard a youth make mention of them, who is called Abraham.
021.061 They said: Then bring him (hither) before the people's eyes that they may testify.
021.062 They said: Is it thou who hast done this to our gods, O Abraham ?
021.063 He said: But this, their chief hath done it. So question them, if they can speak.
021.064 Then gathered they apart and said: Lo! ye yourselves are the wrong-doers.
021.065 And they were utterly confounded, and they said: Well thou knowest that these speak not.
021.066 He said: Worship ye then instead of Allah that which cannot profit you at all, nor harm you ?
021.067 Fie on you and all that ye worship instead of Allah! Have ye then no sense ?
021.068 They cried: Burn him and stand by your gods, if ye will be doing.
021.069 We said: O fire, be coolness and peace for Abraham,
021.070 And they wished to set a snare for him, but We made them the greater losers.
021.071 And We rescued him and Lot (and brought them) to the land which We have blessed for (all) peoples.
021.072 And We bestowed upon him Isaac, and Jacob as a grandson. Each of them We made righteous.
021.073 And We made them chiefs who guide by Our command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds and the right establishment of worship and the giving of alms, and they were worshippers of Us (alone).
021.074 And unto Lot we gave judgment and knowledge, and We delivered him from the community that did abominations. Lo! they were folk of evil, lewd.
021.075 And We brought him in unto Our mercy. Lo! he was of the righteous.

022.026 And (remember) when We prepared for Abraham the place of the (holy) House, saying: Ascribe thou no thing as partner unto Me, and purify My House for those who make the round (thereof) and those who stand and those who bow and make prostration.
022.027 And proclaim unto mankind the pilgrimage. They will come unto thee on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every deep ravine,
022.028 That they may witness things that are of benefit to them, and mention the name of Allah on appointed days over the beast of cattle that He hath bestowed upon them. Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor unfortunate.
022.029 Then let them make an end of their unkemptness and pay their vows and go around the ancient House.
022.030 That (is the command). And whoso magnifieth the sacred things of Allah, it will be well for him in the sight of his Lord. The cattle are lawful unto you save that which hath been told you. So shun the filth of idols, and shun lying speech,
022.031 Turning unto Allah (only), not ascribing partners unto Him; for whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky and the birds had snatched him or the wind had blown him to a far-off place.
022.032 That (is the command). And whoso magnifieth the offerings consecrated to Allah, it surely is from devotion of the hearts,
022.033 Therein are benefits for you for an appointed term; and afterward they are brought for sacrifice unto the ancient House.

037.075 And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer
037.076 And We saved him and his household from the great distress,
037.077 And made his seed the survivors,
037.078 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation):
037.079 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples!
037.080 Lo! thus do We reward the good.
037.081 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves.
037.082 Then We did drown the others.
037.083 And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham
037.084 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart;
037.085 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship ?
037.086 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire ?
037.087 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds ?
037.088 And he glanced a glance at the stars
037.089 Then said: Lo! I feel sick!
037.090 And they turned their backs and went away from him.
037.091 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat ?
037.092 What aileth you that ye speak not ?
037.093 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand.
037.094 And (his people) came toward him, hastening.
037.095 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve
037.096 When Allah hath created you and what ye make ?
037.097 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire.
037.098 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost.
037.099 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me.
037.100 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous.
037.101 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son.
037.102 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou ? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.
037.103 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face,
037.104 We called unto him: O Abraham!
037.105 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good.
037.106 Lo! that verily was a clear test.
037.107 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim.
037.108 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation):
037.109 Peace be unto Abraham!
037.110 Thus do We reward the good.
037.111 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves.
037.112 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous.
037.113 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves.
