	water	elixir of life; sustains, refreshes, purifies

	sacred thread	symbol of rite of initiation
	Sandalwood Paste, or other fragrant objects	perfume for God, anointing of God
	betel nut	sometimes symbolizes God / Brahman
After Puja:
prasad	partaking in food	Symbolic sharing / receiving of gifts from deity.
arati	touching feet of deity, afterwards touching one's own forehead	symbol of submission, symbolic prostration before deity
